MCAT Waiver Extended for May Admission Applications

AUC School of Medicine has elected to waive the MCAT requirement for qualified, impacted applicants for the May 2021 semester in cases where the MCAT exam was unavailable due to COVID-19 related interruptions. AUC’s evaluation for admission is conducted on an individual basis and uses a holistic approach. Serious applicants are encouraged to consult with an admissions ambassador about their individual situations if they are unable to take the MCAT before the May semester begins.

NOTE: Recent U.S. Department of Education guidance permits waiving the MCAT requirement for impacted applicants when related to continued COVID-19 related interruptions.

Why AUC?

Financial Aid for Canadians

We’re committed to working with you personally to help determine and facilitate any financial aid options available to you, including loans, scholarships, and grants potentially available in your province.

Scholarships & Awards

Nearly 10 scholarships are available to you as an incoming first-semester student — including the $80,000USD Canadian Scholarship for those who apply and qualify.

Is AUC accredited?

Yes. AUC's medical school facilities and curriculum are accredited by the Accreditation Commission on Colleges of Medicine (ACCM), which is the accreditor used by the country of St. Maarten. Being an international foreign operating school, AUC is not eligible to seek accreditation from traditional US accreditors.

How does that compare to US accreditation?

A special review board appointed by the US Department of Education (the National Committee on Foreign Medical Education and Accreditation, or NCFMEA) has reviewed ACCM’s standards and determined that they are comparable to those used to accredit medical schools in the US. This is an important distinction for AUC, and one held by only a few Caribbean schools.

Where can I practice as an AUC graduate?

You’ll be eligible for licensure to practice in all 50 US states, Canada, and internationally.
